Bring a twinkle to your children’s eye
A world of fun is just a cable car ride away! Mt. Gitschberg is waiting to woo you with a variety of adventures and great mountain views. Easy to negotiate with prams, it offers a special highlight: the Sun Park, a huge course that stretches from the mountain terminal all the way to the Gitschhütte hut, with over 20 play features and giant slides. Little explorers can walk from there back to the valley terminal or from the middle terminal to Meransen – both paths are suitable for prams.
Lifted up to a walker’s paradise
From Meransen, take the Gitschberg cable car to climb the first few metres of altitude and you’ll find the most wonderful hiking trails waiting for you. How about an easy high-altitude hike to Mt. Kleingitsch via the Moseralm pasture and back to Meransen? Or would you rather take a leisurely walk through the Ochsenboden hollow into the Altfasstal valley? There’s an easy hike that starts at the middle terminal and leads first to the Bacherhütte hut and then back to Meransen along the Möserweg path. From Mt. Groß Gitsch, you’ll be able to take in an unforgettable view of over 500 peaks. If you are looking for something a little more challenging, Mt. Fallmetzer at a dizzy height of 2,568 metres is a great choice! We also recommend the high-altitude hike along the Schellenberg path to the Seefeld lakes and back to Meransen via the Altfasstal valley. There are two different huts there, where you can hire bikes and pedal your way down to the valley terminal in a jiffy.
A paradise for families
Imagine your children playing and running riot all day with water games, animal-shaped climbing frames, hammocks, a wooden tractor, a petting zoo and much, much more... If you’re wondering where you can find all this, the answer is simple: at the Jochtal Adventure Park, at an altitude of over 2,000 metres! The park is right next to the Jochtal mountain terminal, which you can reach from Vals. The cable car mountain terminal is also the starting point for the pram-friendly hike to the Steinermandl viewing platform, which offers a fantastic all-round view. PS: When you get there, don’t forget to sign the summit book!
