The Alpine pasture trail in Spinges
Here’s a foretaste
If you are looking for a place for a family day out in the snow, this trail through the meadows of the Spinger Alp is a safe bet. Expect lots of snow, wide spaces for walking and snowball fighting, and the option of walking further into the Jochtal area.
The Alpine pasture trail in detail
You can begin this family-friendly hike either in the village centre of Spinges, or directly at the Spinger Alp car park. Follow the signposts for the Anratterhütte hut (trail no. 9), and for the next 2 to 2.5 hours you will find yourselves crossing Alpine meadows with a view of the mighty Vals mountains until you reach the Anratterhütte hut at 1,850 metres. After fuelling up with a tasty meal, you can make your way back or climb to the Steinermandl peak at 2,117 metres.
If the little ones are too tired to walk all the way back, you can take a much shorter walk to the Jochtal cable car mountain terminal and descend to Vals. If you climb to the Steinermandl peak, you will pass a reservoir and the Ochsenalmhütte hut on your way back.
